Why I Created This Retreat

In 2022, I was diagnosed with postpartum depression and anxiety, 18 months too late. From the outside, it looked like I was holding it all together. Inside, the house was burning down.

That’s the truth about high-achieving women: our coping strategies work… until they don’t. For me, it was postpartum. For others, it might be perimenopause, a career shift, grief, divorce, or simply a string of sleepless nights. Whatever the cause, we all need space to reset.

I began my healing by reaching for support and giving myself permission to pause. In March 2023, I traveled solo to Costa Rica, the best gift I’ve ever given myself. Each solo retreat helps me return home feeling brave, strong, and deeply alive.

While I can’t take you to Costa Rica (yet!), I’ve created this immersive one-day retreat in Edmonton’s River Valley to offer the same feeling: a space to exhale, reset, and come back to yourself.

As a Naturopathic Doctor, endurance athlete, and women’s health advocate, I’ve spent years helping women understand the deep connection between stress, hormones, and life transitions. This retreat isn’t just about learning. It’s about guided action through gentle movement, nourishing food, nervous system support, and community.

  • Not at all! The River Valley walk is gentle and inclusive for all fitness levels. It’s about connecting to nature and to yourself.

  • Comfortable walking shoes, journal & pen, water bottle, and layers for being outside. Everything else is provided.

  • We’re Albertans — there’s no bad weather, only bad clothing. (Okay, just kidding. If it’s REALLY bad, we’ll have an indoor option, but expect to be outdoors unless it’s –30.)

  • Absolutely. Many women join solo, and it’s a wonderful chance to connect with new faces. You’ll be welcomed into a safe, judgement-free space.
